There are lunatics defending it at the usual forums for such people too. The German Blu-ray ain't great (nor was the Fox DVD), but at least I can see patterns in the clothing in my hi-def image

Fox restorations are all over the place colour wise since they trashed so many of their original elements.

I believe that even with references, the people who thought this look is OK would have ended up doing exactly the same thing.

For what it's worth, RAH thinks this is one of the better Fox restoration efforts of a 3 strip film and specifically says that the Beaver caps are inaccurate, noting that the disc is not as dark as they would suggest.

It might not be as dark, but it won't be vastly different either. From what I gathered so far from Beaver, the caps might be off by maybe 2 or 3 RGB values (say 10 10 10 instead of 12 12 12), which won't make a (literal) night and day difference.
Not that RAH would know anything about this though, as he repeatedly seemed clueless while facing purely digital aspects of a release.

Maybe Indicator has the UK rights to Rock Hunter as well, since its out of print from MoC.

Both the above posts are somewhat at variance with reality.

You obviously know better than we would, but Fox title with British actor in Oscar winning role could hardly be more in Indicator's wheelhouse

The Paper Chase release has been cancelled and replaced with Three Coins in the Fountain
Sorry to report to the Twilight Time faithful that our April Titles "pre-announcement" was in error, as Fox has advised that THE PAPER CHASE (1973) was spoken for elsewhere and our skulls full of mush will not be replaced by lawyerly thoughts. However, we are pleased to substitute a comparably desired gem -- and double Academy Award winner -- THREE COINS IN THE FOUNTAIN (1954), from a 2016 4K restoration. It joins MELVIN AND HOWARD (1980), THE SNAKE PIT (1948) and STAGECOACH (1966) on the April 16 hi-def Blu-ray Release Roster. Thanks for understanding.

I honestly can’t believe it’s taken this long for someone to release Three Coins in the Fountain on Blu-ray
