Belle and Sebastian are back in the original soundtrack album game for the first time since Storytelling, this time for Simon Bird's adaptation of Days of the Bagnold Summer
Kind of a cross-section between Films and the music thread, but I figured this one will have some traction here anyway

The aforementioned soundtrack album for this film is out, and while it's slight when viewed as a Belle and Sebastian LP, it's pretty strong as a film soundtrack in the tradition of something like The Graduate's suite of Simon & Garfunkel songs, with some re-recordings of older songs among them, and instrumental-only tracks. Will be interesting to see it deployed in the film, and it certainly blows their work for Storytelling out of the water by a long shot. That always seemed like the most bizarre pairing to me to begin with.

Simon Bird as in The Inbetweeners? I didn't like that show but Friday Night Dinner is classic farce comedy.

Yeah, it's his feature directorial debut.
