Re: Passages
The Bed, Bath & Beyond song at the end of Go Go Tales plays tastefully on a full Holtkamp pipe organ. The bishop opens his hymnal and sings:
You were gonna ask me for money?
Who the hell do you think you're dealing with,
Some old slut on 42nd Street?
In case you didn't happen to notice it,
Ya big Texas longhorn bull,
I'm one helluva gorgeous chick!
Hosannah in the highest.

Re: Passages
Animator Suzan Pitt died yesterday, learned by personal correspondence with her daughter-in-law, filmmaker Laura Kraning. I don't think there are any public announcements yet. Pitt is most well-known for the film "Asparagus" bu made a beautiful array of experimental animation films, and taught at Cal Arts for many years.

A massive loss for cinema. I was fortunate to see her and several restored works at the AMPAS' Dunn
Theater a few years ago (and she sported an example of the incredible hand-painted couture she has on in this picture with
Keith Haring here).
Even if all she had made was Asparagus, she would be a legend, but the scope of her achievements is massive. Along with
Sally Cruikshank, Joanna Priestley, Joan Gratz, Tilby/Forbas, and Caroline Leaf, she was part of a wave of feminist independent animators to emerge in the 70's and 80's.

That one hurts. Always iconic to horror fans like myself, she did great work till a few years ago. She was fantastic as Isabelle Huppert’s difficult, complicated mother in Things to Come. And what a beauty she still was....

Wonderful in Holy Motors and (the first thing that came to mind due to the role) Summer Hours as well.

And of course iconic as the original figure who 'let the dogs out' (and birds) in the beautifully lyrical climax of Eyes Without A Face (spoiler for the ending), with her role being paid tribute to in Holy Motors.Lost Highway wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 8:15 amThat one hurts.
