Re: Indications of Incoming Indicator Entertainments
It seems a tad unlikely.
Out of curiosity, I thought I'd look at what Indicator has released on a decade-by-decade basis:
1900s - 0
1910s - 0
1920s - 0
1930s - 2
1940s - 4
1950s - 21
1960s - 32
1970s - 26
1980s - 8
1990s - 3
2000s - 1
2010s - 0
Obviously, never say never, and there'll always be occasional surprises (I imagine nobody saw Born of Fire coming), but there's a pretty clear pattern here.
(The one post-millennium title was Ghosts of Mars, snapped up when the success of Christine suggested that more John Carpenter titles might be a good idea.)

Re: Indications of Incoming Indicator Entertainments
Is there any love for Frankenheimer at Indicator?... thinking specifically of The Fixer with Alan Bates and Dirk Bogarde from 1968 which seems to tick a few Indicator-ish boxes. However I can never get my head round who has what in-roads with whom on the distribution stakes so this may already be ruled out being I think MGM.

Re: Indications of Incoming Indicator Entertainments
It's actually with Warner, so that particular ball is firmly in their court.
(Thanks to assorted catalogue acquisitions over the years, we're currently in the bizarre situation whereby films actually made by MGM are with Warner Bros, whereas MGM reps companies like United Artists, Cannon, AIP, etc. This is why Zabriskie Point ended up with Warner Bros, and The Passenger would be with them too if Jack Nicholson hadn't intervened by buying up all the rights and then appointing Sony as worldwide distributor.)

Re: Indications of Incoming Indicator Entertainments
The 1970 Frankenheimer film I Walk The Line has recently been on Talking Pictures TV and that is a Columbia title.
The Last Movie is going to be shown at the London Film Festival in October. If Indicator still has a deal with Universal then would that be a viable future title? Similarly if Can Heironymus Merkin... were to be available, would that be more of an Indicator thing or more of a Flipside thing?

I Walk the Line is a possibility?
Frankenheimer was a superb Director of low key drama. Gypsy Moths is even better.

The photo is of Judy Geeson. Any guesses as to what film this could be?

The Boy Who Turned Yellow - I suspect they succeeded in licensing it as an extra for Age of Consent. Will please a lot of people!

I look forward to seeing that yellow glow in HD. It's a film that I imagine would benefit from some contextualising extras of its own, though I feel it would probably be too cheeky of me to suggest that Indicator start producing extras for their extras!

Re: Indications of Incoming Indicator Entertainments
Next month's tease confirmed as California Split (already spotted via the BBFC site). I suppose The Last Movie will be another January release too (or February/March).
Other upcoming titles already leaked include The Reckless Moment, Birdy, Immaculate Conception and Breakout. 2019 is off to a good start!

Re: Indications of Incoming Indicator Entertainments
The actresses in question are from 13 Frightened Girls (or The Candy Web as it was still called at the time), so presumably it's just to tie in with the William Castle releases. The full issue is up on Google Books.

Re: Indications of Incoming Indicator Entertainments
So they’ve announced screenings of Last Movie but not yet the surely forthcoming blu ray. And have posted support for Out of the Blue, although no announcement as yet.

Re: Indications of Incoming Indicator Entertainments
Indicator has nothing to do with the Out of the Blue restoration project: that link was only posted in solidarity with the people behind it.

Re: Indications of Incoming Indicator Entertainments
I suppose it isn't random when it has a connection to an upcoming title, but I think the only previous restoration that they've done this with is The Last Movie itself so...
Regardless, it has increased awareness of the Out of the Blue restoration and I'm sure Indicator have noted the reaction so might look into acquiring it when the restoration is complete, despite the current 'no plans'.

They did it with The Reckless Moment as well, advertising a screening for a recent restoration going on in the UK. This was earlier this year though and nothing has happened yet.Calvin wrote: ↑Wed Nov 07, 2018 5:58 pmI suppose it isn't random when it has a connection to an upcoming title, but I think the only previous restoration that they've done this with is The Last Movie itself so...

Re: Indications of Incoming Indicator Entertainments
If I remember rightly, that was more to do with a talk on James Mason, who features in a fair number of Indicator releases.

Re: Indications of Incoming Indicator Entertainments
Gosh I must have seen Out of the Blue almost ten years ago on an old DVD and it was under the title No Looking Back. I remember liking it well enough and wondering at the time how it managed to sort of just disappear despite who directed and had a role in it. Hopper is of course dead and I don't know what Linda Manz is doing (Her last role was Gummo right?). Might make for interesting curio if enough effort goes into putting it out.
