I thought it was the last two letters of SEXY... not that the word belongs anywhere near this film!

I do like though that it is so overblown it could be mistaken for the cover of a Sex and the City movie!

Re: Worst DVD Covers...ever! (Part 4)
What is really unfair is that the proper title seems to have only been used in the UK, so it's only on a PAL DVD. In Germany, you can get a Blu-ray edition, but it probably has either the German title (Bone - Allein zu Haus, ripping off the German title of Home Alone, which is Kevin - Allein zu Haus) or the American title Alone for Christmas, and although the German title does visually translate to Bone Alone at Home, more maddeningly, they've altered the appropriate cover art, too:Morbii wrote:That should totally be a masturbation porno (the name, that is!).

Re: Worst DVD Covers...ever! (Part 4)
Looking through David DeLuise's recent filmography, two trends are hard to miss, and Bone Alone rolls them into one:
Pup Star: Better 2Gether
Pup Star
Beethoven's Treasure Tail
Lucky Dog
Abner the Invisible Dog
A Christmas Wedding Date
Switchmas
A Christmas Proposal
Seems like an entry into the lucrative direct-to-video dog-themed-Christmas movie genre was inevitable.
And whoever wrote his bio is obviously a pretty huge fan:

Oh! Well at least he went the humble route and said "perhaps the most popular dad on TV."David DeLuise is now perhaps the most popular dad on TV. He's won the admiration of millions of children and parents alike for his portrayal of family patriarch Jerry on the hit Emmy award-winning Disney Channel series, "Wizards of Waverly Place." ... etc. ... - IMDb Mini Biography By: David DeLuise

Re: Worst DVD Covers...ever! (Part 4)
For a movie that fared so well in the BO, all these weird video-game-y covers that all look photoshopped to death to include some flames or explosions somewhere on them are very surprising. It's usually reserved for movies that the studios don't know how to sell at all. You'd think Warner could just throw the theatrical poster everywhere and be done with it.

That's at least marginally better than the "Call of Duty" cover from a few weeks ago.Cremildo wrote:Brazilian DVD cover.

Oddly enough, that atrocious cover is the IMAX poster.

That pull-quote on the top-left annoys me.

Re: Worst DVD Covers...ever! (Part 4)
That pull quote is astonishingly bad. They could have just pulled “stunningly elegant”, but no, let’s keep going with the “You don’t need to know the original” so randos eyeing this in Best Buy won’t think it’s a movie that’s only for nerds or something. Baffling. “Please. Please buy this. We need your money. We don’t care if you even know what Blade Runner is! Buy this! Please!”
