Announcements due tomorrow. Indicator being my numero uno label, this is the day I get most excited for.

I hate to break it to you, but they’re very likely the four titles already leaked in an Indicator advertisement a month ago (California Split, Badge 373, the Legacy, Birdy)

If California Split is actually among them I'll be very excited regardless of the foreknowledge.

Why would that be breaking it to me - if I get to order California Split and Birdy tomorrow I'll be a VERY happy chappy! :P Not to mention we saw a tiny pic of a cover....we didn't see the no doubt extensive extras on offer.

Maybe. After the leak, somebody contacted Indicator and were told that the July titles weren't set yet.

It's possible they were just trying to keep anticipation for tomorrow's announcement though, so we'll have to see.

What about that von Sternberg release they're supposed to be working on?

That most likely falls into the category with the 4th Hammer set of being teased but taking a long time to work on.

Not so much of a leak as an actual promotional flyer sent out with the April titles. I contacted John about something and also asked about the July titles to which I was told they weren't signed off yet (implying they could change and/or that maybe those four weren't actually all for July anyway).

So it could be all of them, some of them, or none of them at all. I think California Split and Birdy are more likely as they have been leaked for a long time now (especially the latter, which was confirmed very early on). The other two are more genre affair so might be better suited another month, but you never know.

Anyway, we should find out in roughly ten hours' time. :)

They can take as long as they need to for me - the Hammer sets are a godsend and I'd wait as long as I have to for the last one to be as good as it can be. We've seen Studiocanal and Network put out some subpar transfers and skimp on extras, and the Hammer releases themselves have issues with colour (though they are stacked extras wise). Indicator treat Hammer better than anyone, including the US where Scream Factory now have a lot of the titles. I wish they could do more than the Columbias but hey - I'm grateful for what we've got. Knowing I'll have Indicator releases of Revenge Of Frankenstein and Taste Of Fear and two more? Thrilling.

Apart from being 100% wrong in that prediction - good call!

Still, would like Birdy and California Split in August! The tease is 100% Two Faces Of Dr Jekyll which has been unofficially confirmed to people already.

75% wrong, to be fair - he was right about The Legacy.

With all the recent interest in Harold Pinter (superb home video presentations & packages of Pinter at the BBC. and The Caretaker by BFI, as well as a decent release of Comfort of Strangers, and, stateside from TT, Quiller Memorandum), will we see anything more from Indicator? (Was great to get hold of Pumpkin Eater, one of their great early releases.)

One of my dream titles would be Betrayal, a film that is very difficult to get hold of.

Also, I'm hoping the NJ Warren Box will be a great success. Especially with new presentations. What will the chances be of a Pete Walker Box? Rights & materials permitting, of course. I'd get just for the astonishing Frightmare, to be honest.

I agree and it has to be better than the Kino version with average picture and poor sound. It really is dynamic in places and some of the more sinister scenes verge on horror movie terrain expanded in The Exorcist. Shaw really was a remarkable performer.

Don't know the rights or materials situation. But if someone such as Indicator, who have begun remastering titles, Arrow - who seem to be doing great work on Friedkin titles and who knows, may hopefully develop a productive relationship as they grow - or BFI, folllowing their recent excellent work

From Twitter:
Q: "Will we ever be getting spine numbers 28,46,47 and nos. 88-93?"
A: "028 and 046 have been teased on a leaflet we sent out to folk who buy direct from us. The others are all scheduled for later this year – they’ve all mostly been having new restorations carried out, hence the wait."

Anybody received recent orders with the leaflet tease? I should receive my order within two weeks to determine if I get a leaflet.

No doubt they’re Birdy and California Split. The former has just been announced for US release by Sony, so it should be coming from Indicator soon.

Badge 373 (Howard Koch 1973) is the third title.

Well they actually just said 28 and 46 are on the leaflet (most likely Birdy and California Split), so there's still a question mark over 47...might be another Sony title since it's following the Altman.

Shout-out to forum member MichaelB for an excellent tutorial over in the Indicator group on Facebook on how Indicator supplements are selected, created, and licensed.

Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be a good way to direct-link the post. Any chance of cross-posting the content here?

It's an exclusive for members of that group, and I'd prefer it to remain that way.

But it's easy enough to join.

Looks like a not-John Waters film by John Waters for someone who hasn't seen a single John Waters film

How likely would a Pete Walker box be? Anything in the pipeline? Are the rights available, and what kind of shape are the materials in?
