But there are some releases like "Shane" and "Marathon Man", in which the Paramount International discs have no extras, but the Warner-Paramount US discs have extras on them.

That's very disappointing to hear about the butchery of Hatari. I'm assuming you're talking about the Japanese disc? But from the look of it, the German disc will probably be from the same source.

Cinemasquid has two reviews up for the German blu-ray of Hatari. The two reviews rate the picture quality as, respectively a 5 and a 3...out of 10. The report from one review is a very soft image, full of DNR and the ghosting that often results. Apparently the audio is horrible, also.

What the heck, Paramout? This could have been brilliant.

There's a recent bluray of Terms of Endearment in Australia that as far as I know has no extras - whereas the forthcoming US one has at least a commentary.

There are many other examples - Chinatown gets no extras at all in Australia, neither does An Officer and a Gentleman, A Dangerous Method, Cosmopolis, and from memory, Sunset Boulevard.
