It’s a shame his films have been neglected for restorations. It’s very surprising this world cinema giant doesn’t have US boutique representation of his catalogue. Anyone know his backstory when it comes to ownership and whether he was tough to deal with? Who has his rights in the UK?

Artificial Eye has the UK rights, they put out three DVD box sets

And for those curious they're all actually Region 0 releases despite saying Region 2 on the back. The only thing you'll have to work around is that they're PAL encoded. I can't say they're amazing quality but they're more than serviceable than the VHS tapes that circulated beforehand!
