Can someone tell me which is the best DVD edition of "The Old Dark House". The Kino or the Network. Thanks in advance.

Definitely the Kino - cleaner and sharper (though far from perfect). Network use the very spotty old print Channel 4 used to show in which Raymond Rohauer replaced "Carl Laemmle presents" with his own name! The Kino has better extras too, including two commentary tracks, though Network's is also interesting.

So did anyone actually take a look at this one? Trying to finally go past the big four, but only Waterloo Bridge seems to be well represented.

The Film Foundation, among others, have restored The Road Back, and it's actually the original cut of it. It's showing at this years Il Cinema Ritrovato. Hoping a blu-ray release is imminent.

It looks like a Whale of a year then, as Cohen have announced a new 4K restoration of The Old Dark House "this fall".
