Too bad I won't be able to make it to the theatrical showing at Film Forum, but I'm sure screenings of L'Avventura pop up in Paris from time to time.

For what it's worth, the island on the poster is Basiluzzo, and not Lisca Bianca.

Hopefully they could sneak on Winterbottom's The Magic Lantern.

that's bound to show up on one of their releases, right? I've never seen it, so I'm not sure what film it'd make the most sense to pair up with (Liv and Ingmar fits perfectly with Persona, being their first and most prominent collaboration), but I'd welcome it on an extremely loaded edition of Persona.

Do you think Liv and Ingmar will get a barebones release the way Bergman Island did? I can't imagine the producers of the film would be happy to have their new film relegated to a special feature, even if they are intrinsically related.

If I were an independent documentary filmmaker, I'd LOVE to have my film included in a special edition of a major world classic that tons of people are going to buy instead of a stand-alone release that only Bergman enthusiasts will take a chance on.

I was imagining both a barebones and as a supplement, but you make a good point

May be Philly, but Bryn Mawr or Doylestown is a more happening place than Pittsburgh! Seriously? ](*,)

As it says at the bottom of the list, it's not final. I'm confident that one of the Filmmakers theaters will bring it to Pittsburgh.

Just saw a new 35mm of WATERSHIP DOWN at the Cinefamily last night, which now has the Janus logo.
THE PLAGUE DOGS also screened, but came from a personal print of Martin Rosen's.

Makes sense; I'm pretty sure Until the End of the World was confirmed as being part of the Wenders package Janus Films/Criterion had acquired.

They also made mention (on Facebook) of finally getting a print of SAWDUST & TINSEL returned to them, 45 years later. I don't think this necessarily presages a restoration, however.

No Die linkshändige Frau? Technically directed by Peter Handke, it nonetheless was included in the similar MoMA retrospective.

Janus Films Twitter account posted this image with "She's coming soon to NYC." Seems as if Lady Snowblood has become a Janus restoration tour

Longtime lurker, first time poster here. I’m putting together a series of film screenings in the Indianapolis area for 2016 and I’m stuck in between a rock and a hard place. I want to show some films from the Janus library, no specific titles are definite yet. I’d like to know what my options are before I decide and their website doesn’t have a full catalog.

My sponsors want a list of the films I want to screen before I can get the funding but Janus will not send me a catalog or list of their films in 35mm and DCP until I have the funding and venue/s set in stone. Anyone have access to or knows where I can get a list of the films they offer?

Email booking@janusfilms.com and they should send you a spreadsheet of their currently distributed titles and available formats. Or have you already done that and they won't send it to you? If so, that's very odd of them.

I have already done that. I couldn't get them to send a spreadsheet of titles and available formats. I did get the list from a forum member here though, so it's all good.

Perhaps in response to the above issues, Janus has completely revamped their website - which includes a catalog of their titles! (although it appears they own the rights to more than they have listed on there - like their Hitchcock films aren't listed, along with tons of others that they at least have on Hulu).

They also have a new slate of films touring right now:

Beauty and the Beast (1946)
A Brighter Summer Day
Chimes at Midnight
Dragon Inn
I Knew Her Well
Lady Snowblood (parts 1 & 2)
Late Spring
Story of the Last Chrysanthemum
Touch of Zen
