I've never seen this one. As with many of Nick Ray's films, Jonathan Rosenbaum is a fan of The Savage Innocents (it's on his list of the 1000 greatest films). From his capsule review:the dancing kid wrote:#26 appears to be 'The Savage Innocents' by Nicholas Ray.
One question: will the value of the US dollar ever improve against the pound? <sigh>Victimized by a rather insensitive reception at the time of its release (1959), Nicholas Ray's epic film about Eskimo life and its remoteness from "civilized" values represents his first--and, in many ways, most ambitious--attempt to break free from the Hollywood studios and forge an independent route. Scripted by Ray himself, and shot on location and in studios in several different countries, the film contains one of the few bearable performances of Anthony Quinn; the Japanese actress Yoko Tani plays his wife, and a dubbed Peter O'Toole plays a government official. Couched in the form of a parable, this is one of Ray's most powerful films about honor and alien folkways, and the icy landscapes are hauntingly beautiful.

I can't share your wish! Sitting on the other side of the pond, I can get the CC double-disc set of Harakiri for € 22.70One question: will the value of the US dollar ever improve against the pound? <sigh>
Whereas I have to fork over € 21.96 for the single MoC Onibaba set. So, my wallet is relieved at least half of the time. Thank You, Mr. Bu$h! The only good thing, that came out of your 2 terms was, to spread the CCs all over the world. (Sorry, Nick!)

Hmm, I might as well share my two cents since I have the time.
Firstly, I have to say that I'm also not that keen on that Satyajit Ray cover. If I didn't know the bengali director, I would never buy the upcoming MoC DVD based on that cover. Mind, I love original poster art (my bedroom walls are testimony of that) and agree that MoC's Sunrise and the upcoming Faust are bang-on perfect covers that jump at you from shop shelves or whatever, but the Ray one is just too cluttered and lack-luster from every which angle you see it, in my humblest opinion.
Nick has continually proved that he can do amazing jobs at designing DVD covers (the Shindos are a perfect example of that) so I do hope he reconsiders a second, alternative cover for The Expedition. It can't be that hard to better it, I'm sure. Sometimes the simplest of principles are also the most effective.
That said, is the cover for The Scandal the definitive one?
