It seems also that Ali Baba is Fernandel :P .
Thanks for pointing this out djvaso. This means, not only Fernandel, but also Jacques Becker's only color film (any Becker, even "his worst film!" [as rumor has it] is welcomed!) from a story by Cesare Zavattini!

All that, and Maria Montez & Rock Hudson to boot!

Unfortunately, I made a mistake because of an error on the cover. This is Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves from 1944 not Ali-Baba et les quarante voleurs from 1954. Sorry for the confusion  .

No problem. But that certainly makes a whole lot more sense.

Hey, does anyone here have the Peter Weir Blu-ray box from Koch? Is there any good reason not to buy that, provided that one is willing to double dip on Hanging Rock for the Criterion extras (and possibly better picture quality) later on? Is it the same edit of Hanging Rock as on the Criterion disc, and does it have any extras at all?

Which are the essential releases from their Western Legenden series? I already own Western Union and I am also considering Canyon Passage. Please note I am more interested in films that are not already out on BD elsewhere (unless the alternative is Twilight Time).

Canyon Passage is a great movie! And the disc looks brilliant. You can't go wrong with it.

Otherwise...Maybe Destry Rides Again? I can't remember if it's out somewhere else.
