For fans of trash cinema (me), Shout Factory is putting out Michael Winner's very illogical and sleazy thriller, Scream For Help, the best film where a teenaged girl catches her stepfather having gross, doggy style sex on camera. Also features an over-cooked soundtrack by Led Zeppelin drummer John Paul Jones. I have to admit to really enjoying this one, especially when it develops into one of my favorite thriller sub-genres: the home invasion film.
Nice, that made my to watch list from the Trailer Trauma comp
just want to say, thank you for mention that trailer compilation. i really like these because they're a great way to discover new films as well as get a glimpse of other films i might never watch. had not heard of it before.

also- scream for help sounds like a film right up my alley. thanks
I was lucky enough to catch a 35 mm LaserBlast screening of this in Toronto late last year, and can attest that it is as delightfully batshit crazy as Death Wish 3 and The Sentinel, or any Michael Winner movie, really. If you enjoy this type of film, you will absolutely enjoy this film.

Special edition of Platoon coming this fall. Does Shout do anything anymore other than license movies that already have fine Blu-rays with plenty of extras and slap a slipcover on them for five times the going market price?

EDIT: Even the sycophants on the Blu-ray.com forum are calling them out on this!

As long as people are dumb enough to buy the shit, they’ll keep selling it. I think I own 2 Shout discs and, well, that’s enough.

(Starcrash and Bolero/Ghosts Can’t Do It double feature. I can not justify these purchases rationally)

I mean is this really any different from what Criterion does for a number of their releases? Packaging is important to some people especially since this will probably be the last home video format. I know I prefer boutique label releases over studio ones when it comes to displaying them on my shelves.

No, Criterion at least goes to the effort of changing the film's color scheme

City Slickers is getting a new 4K scan, so I would assume they are doing new scans for Platoon and Get Shorty.

You should not assume that, Shout by their own admission has repeatedly rereleased films without doing a new transfer

I'm sure it's a safe bet Quigly isn't getting a 4K scan

MGM did a new 4K scan of PLATOON from the original neg; Oliver Stone approved it. That's the source of the new Shout disc.

Hang Em' High is easily my least favorite Western that Eastwood was ever involved in and I've seen Paint Your Wagon. No doubt the folks who obsess over Dances with Wolves in Montana will want to buy it for the umpteenth time.

I wonder if Shout will include the isolated score tracks and special features that 10 to Midnight and Used Cars had on the TT Blu-rays.

Scream confirmed that 10 to Midnight and Dracula: Prince of Darkness are going to have new transfers.

I assume the more Hammer titles are going to be those that were licensed by Millinnium before they went out of business (Frankenstein Created Woman, Legend of the Seven Golden Vampires, etc)

I love Used Cars and in some alternate world, Robert Zemeckis would've stuck to making human comedies that are also super wacky and high concept. 10 to Midnight is also one of the strangest, and questionably sleaziest films Charles Bronson made along with the ultra grotesque Kinjite: Forbidden Subjects. I can't see how they can improve over the already excellent looking Used Cars Twilight Time released, and 10 to Midnight looks like it was shot without much care or consideration for each shot other than to get the scene done on time and on budget. Not sure what they can really improve here, but more power to them.

Scream is releasing a double feature Bluray of Munchies and Munchie... I know a thousand times over that there is a home video market for absolutely worthless VHS era shit, but this just depresses me on some deep and fundamental level. So, so, so many films languishing without any release and this moves to the front. Jesus

Wouldn't anyone who wants that already have one of the many available Blu-rays?
