I suppose this might be the most appropriate thread for anything Bing Crosby/Gary Giddins-related...
The second volume of Giddins' Bing Crosby biography is coming out this fall. It's over 700 pages long and covers a mere 7 years of Crosby's life. The first volume is about the same length and covers 1903-1940, so I just assumed this second volume would cover the remainder of Crosby's life, but daaaang.

To be fair those are a jam packed seven years assuming it covers '41-'48.

Clicking on links is for intelligent people. You wouldn't dare accuse me of that I would hope.

Sorry, should have just put the actual years instead of being coy and putting the duration.
I’m sure it will be a fascinating read, I’m just a little gun shy of extremely detailed biographies. I tore through all 920 pages of the first volume of Edmund Morris’ Theodore Roosevelt biography that covers 1858-1901, but could barely make it halfway through the second volume that covers the 8 years of his presidency in exhaustive, almost daily detail.

I’m blown away by this release. The colours and the textures especially. Maybe Whoopee! next?
